Chris “Beast Boy” Barnett makes his Power Slap debut bringing more than a decade of professional combat sports experience and a reputation for knockout power and personality.
A longtime professional MMA fighter and six-fight UFC veteran, Barnett has shared the Octagon with names including Ben Rothwell, Kennedy Nzechukwu, and Gian Villante. His experience extends beyond MMA into professional kickboxing, grappling, bare knuckle, and Karate Combat.
Combat sports have been part of Barnett’s life from an early age. Born in Spain while his father was stationed there, he moved to the United States at age four. With both parents holding black belts in Taekwondo, Barnett began training at just five years old before later competing in collegiate wrestling at Campbellsville University and the University of South Florida.
His path into MMA came in an unconventional way. After winning a dance battle, Barnett received an invitation to train MMA, eventually turning that opportunity into a professional fighting career.
Barnett also has a connection to Power Slap through longtime friend and fellow competitor Wes Mena, whom he has supported at several Power Slap events. Now, he gets his own opportunity to step onto the stage and test his power in a new combat sport.
Outside of competition, Barnett is a father of two and owns and operates Barnett Taekwondo Academy in Athens, Georgia. After losing his wife to encephalitis in 2022, his family has remained a major part of his life and motivation.
With experience across nearly every corner of combat sports, Chris “Beast Boy” Barnett enters Power Slap ready to add another chapter to his fighting career.
