The Lightweight Tournament and Round 1 of the competition have concluded. Round 2, where the fighters will battle it out to earn spots in the live finale is about to kick into gear.
Before the second round gets going, Power Slap roster fighters Ronald Staton and Amir Nuriddeen arrive at the house to join the fighters who have made it this far. Things have been crazy at the house recently, with several fights breaking out. It will be interesting to see how these new arrivals fit into the chaos.
Not long after Staton and Nuriddeen move in, a fight breaks out between Brandon Kerr and Ke’ali’i Kanekoa. Kerr and Kanekoa have fought each other in the house already and this time the intensity of their fight leads to chaos as security and the other fighters in the house scramble to break them up.
In the aftermath of the fight, several of the slap fighters feel like Kerr might be the problem and they’re getting fed up with the tension that he’s adding to the house.
The first fight in the second round is between Power Slap roster fighter Ronald Staton and Round 1 winner Brandon Rhodes. Rhodes strikes first and knocks Ronald out with a massive slap. But, Rhodes is called for stepping and Staton gets the win by DQ.
Up next, slap fighting icon and Road to the Title Season 1 coach, Darius Mata-Verona faces Kody Hrastnik. The two Heavyweight eat huge slaps from each other for three rounds of a back-and-forth battle. In the end, Darius is declared the winner by unanimous decision.
Then, Round 1 winners Rod Alavi and Vince Tracey, who both knocked out their first round opponents, go head-to-head. Alavi and Tracey are both on Team Trujillo, but when their scheduled opponents aren’t medically cleared to fight, they both step up and agree to fight each other.
In the first round of their bout, Rod eats a big slap from Vince and then sends Vince to the ground with his first slap. In round two, Vince stumbles Rod with a huge shot and then Rod is called for clubbing on his turn to strike. In the third round, they eat each other’s shots and Vince is declared the winner by split decision.
Coach Trujillo congratulates both of his fighters on a good match and lets them know he’s proud of them for stepping up to face each other.
