Episode 8 Recap | Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3

Recap All The Action, From The House To What Happened At The Striker’s Podium, On Episode 8 Of Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3

With Round 1 of the competition in the rearview mirror, the fighters who aren’t moving on have left the house. Only the fighters who impressed in round one remain and Dana sends them out on a party bus to celebrate and blow off some steam.

The guys are partying hard on the bus and Brandon Rhodes in particular, gets very wild.

While they’re out on the party bus, the fighters who are moving on from the Qualifier Round and Round 1 of the Lightweight Tournament move into the house. They start a party of their own, toasting their success in the kitchen.

The group on the party bus returns home to find the new guys in the house and tentions are immediately high. Brandon Rhodes announces to all of the new guys that they’ll need to prove themselves, which newcomer James Stonier takes offense to. This leads to Rhodes screaming at, shoving and constantly trying to provoke Stonier, as Pono Pau holds Rhodes back.

As this drama is playing out, additional fighters from the Power Slap roster enter the house for Round 2. Among them is Ke’ali’i Kanekoa, who is Pono’s brother.

Kanekoa instantly finds himself in a confrontation with his Round 2 opponent, Brandon Kerr. He and Kerr get in each other’s faces, talk trash and come to blows, sending the entire house into chaos. As security and the other fighters scramble to break up the fight, it’s obvious that Round 2 of the competition will be fireworks.

Along with all of the craziness at the house, the Semifinal Round of the Lightweight Tournament kicks off.

Dakota McGregor goes up against Reiley Montoya and Reiley lands such a huge shot in round 1 that it sends a stream of drool flying out of Dakota’s mouth. McGregor survives it though and lands one of the cleanest slaps possible in round 2 to KO Montoya and get the win.

Up next, Canadian Joshua Boisvert faces brash New York trash talker Anothony Defrank. Both fighters land big slaps, and Boisvert is able to outlast Defrank and win by TKO in round 3 when he lands a slap so hard that it sends snot flying out of Defrank’s nose.

In the final fight of the Lightweight Tournament Semifinals, Isaac Gunther faces William Shockey. Gunther lands a massive shot on the first strike of round 1 and even though Shockey tries to fight through to a recovery, the referee stops the fight and Gunther secures a first round TKO.
