Episode 5 Recap | Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3
Recap All The Action, From The House To What Happened At The Striker’s Podium, On Episode 5 Of Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3
During Team Trujillo training, light heavyweight Cesar Gonzalez prepares for his upcoming fight against bodybuilder Luke Simonds. At the weigh-in later that day, both strikers make weight and, the following morning, head to the Apex for their fight. Cesar wins the coin toss and slaps first; calling right hand on three. Luke eats the first slap with ease and returns to slap with right on three. Cesar eats the slap, but Luke gets called for Illegal Windup—he slapped on two instead of three. Cesar returns and knocks Luke down, but gets called for stepping foul. After a sloppy start with both guys being called for fouls, Luke drops Cesar with a vicious knockout in the second round and takes home the win.
At the training center the next day, coach Austin Turpin runs his team through drills and prepares James Siekmann for his heavyweight matchup against professional bodyguard Wes Mena. Once both fighters make weight it’s time for fight day. Wes gets first slap and goes right on two, stumbling Siekmann, but is called immediately for clubbing. After Siekmann gets called for a clubbing foul on his first slap, Wes returns to slap on two and Siekmann eats that slap with ease. Siekmann comes back up and knocks out Mena with his second round slap. But, after review, it’s ruled a stepping foul and Siekmann is disqualified. Mena earns the win.
At the Apex the following day Power Slap veteran Darren Godfrey of the UK takes on former MMA fighter Dale Minner. After the middleweights trade shots in the first round, Darren floors Minner with a massive knockout in round 2 and will be moving on in the competition.
Team Turpin has seven wins and Team Trujillo has six wins after Episode 5.
