Recap All The Action, From The House To What Happened At The Striker’s Podium, On Episode 4 Of Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3
Round 1 of the competition kicks off with a middleweight matchup between Angel Merrill of Placerville, California and Alexandr Safarov, a world class cyclist from Kazakhstan. After intense smack talk at their weigh-in, and a tense confrontation between Merrill and Pono Pau at the house that night, the fighters take to the stage the following day.
Angel won the coin toss and set to strike first, with his left on two. Alexandr ate the strike and rolled right back to his corner to get ready for his strike. Alexandr’s strike resulted in a flinch from Angel, giving him the chance to strike for a second time in the first round. Alexandr goes right on two. This time Angel didn’t flinch, but it was a great strike from Alexandr. Angel ate it. Angel goes left on three and sends Alexandr to the ground, but he returns to his feet right away. Alexandr returns with a clean strike on Angel. The final round kicksoff with another strike from Angel sending Alexandr to the ground, again he returns quickly to his feet. Alexandr ends the match with a slap that sends Angel stumbling back and to the ground, but he recovers to his feet immediately. After an exciting blow for blow three-round battle, the judges call the fight a draw.
That night, the Round 1 fighters enjoy a meal and some heavy drinking, with some of them getting sick. The following day, after Team Trujillo’s training session, welterweights Tyler Gross and Rod Alavi weigh in for their fight. At the Apex the next day, after exchanging shots in the first round, Alavi drops Gross with a powerful TKO, taking home the victory. Alavi will be moving on in the competition.
The next morning heavyweight Power Slap veterans James Stonier and Kody Hrastnik weigh in for the final qualifier fight of the competition. Kody wins the coin toss and strikes first, starting the match off with a clubbing foul. James goes right on one and Kody eats the slap with ease. Kody goes right on two for his second-round strike. He is flagged for clubbing, his second striking foul. Because of the two striker violations, Kody is disqualified and Stonier is awarded the win. With the victory, Stonier will be moving into the house for Round 2 of the competition.
Team Turpin has six wins and Team Trujillo has four wins after Episode 4.
