Episode 11 Recap | Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3
Recap All The Action, From The House To What Happened At The Striker’s Podium, On Episode 11 Of Power Slap: Road To The Title Season 3
With only three fights left in the second round of the competition, the fighters look forward to these highly anticipated matches to see who will make it into the live finale.
Heavyweights James Seikmann and Pono Pau are the next matchup and there is a lot to look forward to in this one. James is the most powerful striker in the house, with a slap score of 1090. He brutally knocked out his opponent in Round 1, but was called for a stepping foul and lost by DQ. Pono also showed massive knock out power in Round 1, winning his fight by second round KO.
Pono’s win was made even more impressive by the fact that he was striking with his non-dominant left hand. He injured his dominant right hand during the combine and has been using his left all season.
At the house, Pono shares photos of his kids with the other fighters. He talks about how he hasn’t seen his daughter in years and that being on Power Slap Road to the Title means a lot to him because he knows that she’ll be watching.
Pau and Seikmann’s fight is fireworks right from the start. Both strikers land huge blows in the first round and are able to survive each other’s shots. In the second round, Pau delivers a massive shot that stumbles Seikmann, but he recovers to land an incredible slap and knock Pau out.
Up next, Light Heavyweight Luke Simonds, who had one of the most impressive knock outs in Round 1, faces Power Slap roster fighter Alan Klingbeil, who has an impressive record of 3-1.
Both fighters hit with a ton of force in the first round, where Luke is called for a stepping foul. In round two, they eat each other’s shots, but on Luke’s first slap in round three, Alan is called for flinching. Because of the flinching foul, Luke gets to land a fourth strike on Alan and even though he survives it, Alan is called for clubbing on his third-round strike. That foul ends up being the deciding factor, as the judges award the win to Simonds by split decision.
Finally, Round 1 winner Darren Godfrey takes on Power Slap veteran Amir “The Comback Kid” Nurideen in a Middleweight matchup. Amir strikes first, but Darren eats it easily and celebrates doing a Cookie Monster impression. Then, on Godfrey’s first slap, Amir ducks badly and turns his head in one of the worse flinches the sport has ever seen. As a result of the extreme flinch, Godfrey’s slap lands awkwardly and injures his hand. He’s not able to continue the match and so Godfrey gets the win by DQ.
With the conclusion of Round 2, Power Slap President, Frank Lamicella, calls all of the fighters who will be advancing to the live finale onto the stage to congratulate them. All of the guys are excited about making it through such an exciting season and looking forward to the live event!
Team Trujillo has 17 wins and Team Turpin has 15 wins after round 2.
