Joe Perez enters Power Slap with a 0-1 record and a background built on family, resilience, and a lifelong connection to combat sports.

Perez made his Power Slap debut at Power Slap 18 on March 6, 2026, facing Jaidan Fa’anana Schultz and suffering a second-round KO loss. After stepping into the sport for the first time, Perez is focused on continuing to grow as an athlete and proving that it is never too late to chase a new opportunity.

The older brother of No. 1 ranked Power Slap Heavyweight Dorian “Disturbing the Peace” Perez, Joe has been inspired by his brother’s success and the path Power Slap has created for their family. A father of four, Perez is motivated by the opportunity to build something bigger than himself and create a legacy for his children.

Growing up surrounded by sports, Perez competed in football and baseball while also training in boxing and kickboxing during summers in San Diego from ages 15 to 18. While he never competed professionally in those sports, he gained experience through training and sparring with other fighters.

Perez attended the December combine, where he impressed Power Slap coaches Robert “The Real Deal” Trujillo and Branden “The Butcher” Bordeaux. Although he never originally imagined himself competing in Power Slap, he saw the opportunity as a chance to pursue his passion for fighting and challenge himself in a new way.

“To be honest, I’ve never pictured myself to be in Power Slap. I just wanted to fight. As I get older, realizing it’s never too late to build a career that’s bigger than you imagined.”

For Perez, Power Slap represents more than just competition — it represents overcoming doubt, embracing his journey, and showing others that everyone has a story behind their goals.

“Everyone has a back story. It’s how you finish it.”

Outside of competition, Perez works as a chef and considers himself a jack of all trades. Above all, his biggest motivation remains his family and the chance to inspire his four children through his actions.

“I’m also doing this for my four beautiful kids.”

With a strong family connection to Power Slap, years of athletic experience, and a never-quit mindset, Joe Perez continues his journey in the sport determined to prove he belongs among its toughest competitors.
